Nancy J. Baker
Nancy J. Baker, 83, of New Philadelphia, was reunited with her husband in heaven, Friday, September 9, 2022, while in Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia.
Born in Uhrichsville, Nancy was the daughter of the late Eugene A and Maxine B. (Watson) Severn and a 1957 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. A homemaker to her husband and children, Nancy was still currently working as a Representative for Avon Products. A position she has held since 1983.
Nancy had been attending NewPointe Community Church at Dover with her daughter and grandson, Craig Moss. She loved camping at Bucket Hill near Kimbolton and in her spare time, she would tend to her flowers and watch the squirrels and birds around her home. She also enjoyed her trips to Marble Head, Ohio, where she would feed the goats at Deer Park.
On August 14, 1976, Nancy married Robert Baker and had celebrated over 33 years of marriage before his passing in 2009. Surviving are her two daughters, Jenny (Dave) Werner of Tiffin and Melody (Daniel) Adams of New Philadelphia; a stepdaughter, Patty (Denny) Thurbsay of Kimbolton; 16 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren; one Great-Great Grandson and her puppy “Muzzy”.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Nancy is also preceded in death by her two sons, William Green, and Jerry Green, II and her brother, Donald Severn.
Pastor Paul Schwab will officiate a funeral service for Nancy on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 1:30 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Burial will immediately follow the service in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Community Hospice Truman House, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
