Nadine  Christensen

Nadine Christensen, of Ontario, passed away at the age of 92 at Golden Palms Retirement Center in Harlingen, Texas, on Sunday, July 18, 2021. She was born April 14, 1929, in Lansing, Michigan, to the late Stanley Phillip and Lila Pearl (Allison) Dutt.

Nadine graduated from Lakeview High School in Michigan with the Class of 1946. She retired from Therm-O-Disc after 22 ½ years of service. She was a member of Freedom Ridge Church and enjoyed mission work, especially her trips to Texas. Nadine enjoyed many hobbies, with quilting being her favorite. She was an accomplished seamstress and completed many projects for various orphanages over the years. Above all, spending time with her family brought her the most joy. Camping and traveling with them created many treasured memories.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane (John) Ison and Vicki Stano, both of Ontario; a son, Darwin (Rose) Christensen of Nipigon, Canada; five grandchildren, Jim (Kerrie) Ison, John (Theresa) Ison, Carey Sloan, Andrea (Elliott) Johnson and Adam Christensen; a step grandchild, Jolene Cole; eleven great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; a sister, Betty Ackley of Galion; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Floyd F. “Chris” Christensen; son-in-law, Paul Stano; and sister, Verna Truesdell.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2021, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with Fred Coisman and Mark Russell officiating. She will be laid to rest in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Lucas, Ohio.
