Mary Helen Lawson
Mary Helen Lawson, 80 of Springfield, died at 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at her home. She was born March 10, 1943 in Springfield, to Vincent and Georgia Kelly Howard. She married Robert “Bob” D. Lawson in 1969 and he survives.
Also surviving are one daughter Melinda Lawson (Sue Lionberger) of Springfield; two twin granddaughters, Jolene and Elise Lawson; one sister Patricia (Darrell) Veseling of Springfield and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Scott Lawson and one brother Kelly Howard.
Mary Helen was a member of Christ the King Church. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and hanging out with friends.
She retired from Springfield School District 186 where she worked as an Elementary School Librarian.
Memorial Gathering: 9- 10 am, Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Christ the King Church with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10 am with Reverend Christopher House officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to a Charity of the Donor’s choice.
