Mary Ann Chamberlin, 88, of Olin passed away peacefully on Monday, July 22, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Dawson Funeral Services in Olin, Iowa. Her funeral will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Olin Community United Methodist Church. Burial will be held at the Olin Cemetery.
Mary Ann was born on December 21, 1935, at home in Olin to Eugene and Edna (Feddersen) Hart. She graduated from Olin High School in 1954. On May 29, 1955, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Mervin Chamberlin at the Olin Community United Methodist Church. Mary Ann helped her husband on the farm, raised five children and enjoyed working at Jack’s. She was a proud member of the Olin Community United Methodist Church where she served unselfishly in about every role including the church organist for over 50 years. Mary Ann was a member of the Olin Ambulance and served as the Treasurer and on the Board of Directors for several years. She enjoyed traveling with the girls, Iowa Hawkeye sports, Chicago Cubs baseball, a good chocolate dessert, puzzles of all types, knitting and most recently added the love of quilting. Her greatest blessing in life was her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Randy (Valerie) Chamberlin of Center Point, Rick Chamberlin of Webster City, Mitzi (Virgil) Matzen of Davenport, Rodney (Kathy) Chamberlin of Jesup, Melody (Chris) Rady of Poplar Grove, Illinois, 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, and a sister Linda Parker of Monticello.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and a stepsister Mary Levsen.
