Marna Jo (Larsen) McCaw, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022.

Jo was born in Audubon, Iowa, on March 31, 1938. She was the youngest of nine children to her parents, Martin and Anna Larsen, all of whom preceded her in death. She often shared fond memories of her childhood on the family farm.

Jo graduated from Anita High School in 1956 and was proud to have played on her high school basketball team, and to have been majorette of the school’s marching band. Jo worked in banking from 1968-81.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan McCaw, whom she married on July 17, 1974.

Jo had three children, Rod (Kathy) Harris, Perry Harris (deceased) and Kelly Harris (deceased). She had three stepchildren, Craig (Julie) McCaw, Kevin (Debbie) McCaw and Karla (Rocky) Damiano. Jo was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly.

Jo was an avid reader and card player. She loved to gather with family and friends. Jo and Harlan were diehard Hawkeye fans and were Iowa Football season ticket holders for years and attended many Iowa bowl games, as well as Iowa basketball games. They both loved to travel.

Her family would like to thank the wonderful and thoughtful care givers at Cottage Grove Place in Cedar Rapids as well as those from St. Croix Hospice.

A service celebrating Jo’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, were a gathering of family and friends beginning at 10 a.m. Until service time. Inurnment will follow the service at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Foundation.
