Mark Alan Newlon, 64, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at his home. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Mark Newlon was born on October 4, 1960, in Cedar Rapids to Billy and Elaine (Nelson) Newlon. He spent his career working for Kraft Heinz and lived his life with spontaneity, kindness, and a generous heart. Mark had a deep love for motorcycles, always drawn to the thrill of the open road. He enjoyed the camaraderie of playing dominos, the adventure of mushroom hunting, and the serenity of boating. He took pride in his antique and vintage bottles, each with its own unique story. Mark found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was the satisfaction of a freshly mowed lawn or the companionship of his beloved dog, Gus, and cat, Coco.
Survivors include his children, Misty Newlon, Mitch Newlon (Kendra Fuller), Tiffany Newlon, Brandy Newlon, and Angel (Sam) Jeffrey, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Logen, Tysen, Ciera, Leaha, and Mason; brother, Elvin Newlon of Cedar Rapids; and sisters, Jenny Hoff and Carrie Smith, both of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billly and Elaine Newlon; and brother, Chuck Newlon.
