Marilyn D. Brain

Marilyn Danard Brain, 91, of Hendersonville, died Friday, July 1, 2022 at Carolina Village Medical Center. A native of Darien, CT., she was the daughter of the late Stanley Mead and Emma Miller Danard. She had lived in Fairfield Ct. for many years prior to moving to Hendersonville in 1987. She received her Bachelor in Science from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. She had been a longtime member of Greenfield Hill Congregational Church in Fairfield and First Congregational Church in Hendersonville and was a member of the choir in each church. Her husband of 54 years, LeRoy McCreary Brain, died in 2011.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Linda B. Hirst (Brad) of Kittery Point, ME and Kenneth J. Brain (Renee) of Hendersonville; three grandchildren, William Nathan Hirst of Kittery Point, Andrew Hirst (Camille) of Wilmington, NC and Hannah Marjean Brennan (Patrick) of Hendersonville and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 am Friday, July 29, in the Carolina Village Hall. Rev. Karla Miller will officiate. The family will receive guests at Carolina Village following the service.
