Margaret Anne (Teer) Davis

Margaret Anne (Teer) Davis, 93, of Springfield, passed away at 4:10 am, Thursday, April 14, 2022, at the Bridge Care Suites. She was born July 9, 1928 in Springfield to Joseph and Flora (Wells) Teer. She married James W. Davis on May 31, 1954 and he survives.

She is also survived by three sons, Joseph Davis of Springfield, James (Cheryl) Davis of St. Francis, WI, and John (Mary) Davis of Springfield; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Susan Dokey; two sisters, Mary Wake and Bertha Sutter and two brothers, Joseph Teer and John Teer.

Margaret was a member of Christ the King Church. She retired from the State of Illinois from the Department of Revenue and had previously worked for Horace Mann. Margaret was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time with her family and was a St. Louis Cardinal fan.

Visitation: 9:30–11:15 am, Friday, April 22, 2022 at Christ the King Church.

Funeral: 11:30 am, Friday, April 22, 2022 at Christ the King Church with Monsignor David Lantz officiating. Burial will follow at Old Salem Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
