Lynnette Bertha Darby

Lynnette (Battles) Darby was born March 1, 1956 in Cleveland, Ohio to Roosevelt

and Alma Lillian Battles (deceased). She graduated from John Adams High School in 1973 and attended Cuyahoga Community College. As a young girl she spent her free time horseback riding and roller skating.

Lynne accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Sardis Baptist Church at age 10. Lynne was an active member of Second St. John Missionary Baptist Church and served as a church nurse. She spent most of her career in service to others at Judson Manor and South Franklin Circle as a Nursing Assistant and Nurse.

Lynne was known for her integrity, quiet strength and giving spirit. She never met anyone in need that she did not have the desire to help. She loved to craft and turned her craft room into a space that illustrated her talents and her love of God. She made jewelry, soap, lotion and was a master on her Cricut. Lynne was a lover of the written word and has an enviable book collection. Her greatest joys were her granddaughters, her son Dathan and his fiancé. Lynne married Kenneth Darby on June 15, 2002 and her commitment to their union, his health and wellbeing continued until her passing.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth, her devoted son Dathan (Tatiana) and her granddaughters Addisyn and Allisyn, her sister Lydia (Darrell) and was preceded in death by her brother Carl, her sister-in-laws Eltora Darby, Veronia Richardson and Teronia Anthony, her nieces Meisha, Nicketia and Lillian, nephews Carl Jr., Antoni, Carl III (who preceded her in death) and Darrell A. In addition to a host of relatives and close friends.
