Lynn Marie Stansbery, 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following a courageous three-year fight with melanoma cancer and complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Teahen Funeral Home.

Private family burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the funeral home, and again on Wednesday after 10 a.m.

Lynn is survived by her husband, Gary; son, Robb Rucker (Tamara); daughter, Traci (Brian) Freeberg; grandchildren, Cody and Jenna; brothers, Jerry (Sandy) Chapman and Michael (Sandi) Chapman; and two nephews and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Doris Chapman.

Lynn was born on April 24, 1949, in Cedar Rapids to Charles and Doris (Hendrichs) Chapman and she graduated from LaSalle High School in 1967. On April 4, 1993, she was united in marriage to Gary Stansbery in Cedar Rapids.

Lynn worked in the restaurant and bar industry for over 30 years and will be remembered for her strong work ethic and her ability to connect with anyone she met. She was a gifted quilter, a member of the East Iowa Heirloom Quilters, and of the Red Hat Society.

Lynn was the poster child of the Cedar Rapids Blue Zones Project and served as a delegate representing the city when Cedar Rapids won the Best City Award. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family.
