Lora Lynn Suter Lora Lynn Suter, 61, died at her home in Springfield, Illinois, on Sunday, November 21, 2021. She was born January 2, 1960, in Springfield to Charles Kenneth and Wanda Mae Boston Suter.

She attended District 186 grade schools and received her high school diploma from Ursuline Academy in 1978 with high honors. She graduated in 1984 from Milliken University in Decatur, Illinois, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Lora was musically talented and able to play just about any instrument but enjoyed guitar the most. She played the flute in the Grant Middle School band and bass guitar in high school and college. She was a member of the Milliken Jazz Band and performed in South America.

As a Registered Nurse, she held various positions in Springfield and Decatur, at hospitals and medical facilities ranging from floor nurse to home health care to Director of Nursing, and most recently as a case manager. She specialized in geriatric care.

Lora was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Alex and Ida Suter; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Ruby Boston; her mother, Wanda in 2017; and her two rescue dogs, Luke and Lucy, in June of this year.

Survivors include her father, Ken; sister, Kendra (Greg) Langdon; nieces, Wendi (Bill) Brincken and Elizabeth (partner: Kevin Miller) Ongman; nephew, Garrett Nolan (partner, Jessica Handy); great-nieces and great-nephews, Halei, Jacob, Jeremy, Emma, Zack, Chloe, and Kyle, all of Springfield; and many cousins.

The family is being served by Staab Funeral Home – Springfield. A family dinner will be held at a later date.
