Keonna Victoria Sue Hayes-Ryan
Cedar Rapids
Keonna Victoria Sue Hayes-Ryan, 26, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in Robins, IA. Keonna was born January 2, 1998 to Misty Marie Hayes, and after her mother’s passing, was raised by her father figure, her dad, Scott Phillips. Her cremation is being done by Celebrate Life Iowa and there will be a private burial of her ashes at St. Benedicts Cemetery in Decorah, IA., next to her loving mother. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Keonna was a deeply loving and caring person, she especially loved children. She helped take care of anyone that needed help, and would always be there for you if you needed her. She became a caretaker to many, and quite motherly to quite a few. She could also be very stubborn and bullheaded, but was also strong, and resilient. Her best attribute was that she was forgiving, not only of others, but of herself. We should all try to be more like Keonna. She had a good eye for antiques, and decorating, and was very handy. She loved being outside, working with flowers and plants and just found a love for mushroom hunting. She was an extremely talented artist and left many drawings and pictures that will be treasured by many.
Survivors include her loving sister, Keria (Timothy) Lagos, Grandmother, Beverly Myers, Great-Grandmother, Joyce Frondle, Aunts, Melissa (James) Mincey, Chelsea (Jared) Cobb, Cathy Ham, Brenda (Pat) Quandt, Uncles Robert (Michelle) Kirk, Chad (Dennice) Phillips, Cousins Jared Mathews, Chad Ham, Kassi, Kaddi, and Deighton Mincey, Khloe Bechman, Logan Landis, Melissa Lynas and Molly Phillips, and many more family members and friends that loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Misty Hayes and maternal great-grandfather Richard Frondle, who adored her.
We would like to thank the family of Brent Brown for letting Keonna into your family and showing her love and care. We were so fortunate to get to know Brent, and our family grieves with you in your loss. Our hearts especially go out to Lexie and Bentley, as we know Keonna adored them.
Additionally, our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of Romundus Cooper and Amanda Parker. We grieve with you as well, and hope you know you are in our hearts.
We would like if you could give to the memorial funds established by the families of Brent, Amanda or Ro, as we know that’s what Keonna would have wanted. Please reach out to your loved ones and always let them know you care.
