Kay Galvin, 84, passed away on Oct. 1, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas. Kay was born to Forrest and Ruth Robbins on May 11, 1938. She lived in Cedar Rapids for over 80 years, before moving to Texas to live with her daughter, Annette, who was also her caregiver.

Kay was an avid reader who enjoyed a great cup of coffee, thin crispy pizza, a good joke, and will be remembered for her joy of cooking for her family and friends. Kay was involved in Sweet Adelines for many years and had built lasting memories during that time, and her friendship with Mardell Kohl was a great blessing to her. Kay was a longtime member of First Christian Church. Kay’s children and grandchildren, along with all who knew her will miss her quick wit, boisterous laugh and great hugs.

Survivors include her daughters, Laura (John) Wingler, Annette Alyousef and Melissa (Mike) Wickham; son, David Priske; grandchildren, Daniel Wingler, Brian Wingler (Ashley Stover), Amanda (Brent) Bundy, Molly Wickham (Sam Dolan), Zaina Alyousef, Ahmad Alyousef; step-granddaughter, Izzy Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Dillon Wingler, Simon Bundy and Rowan Wingler. Kay leaves behind many cousins, nieces, a nephew, many extended family members including Tony and Colleen Galvin and their children, Dusty (Lindsay), Chase and Samantha.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ken Robbins; husband, Roger Galvin; and step-great-granddaughter, Kennedy Stover.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. There will be private family burial at a later date.
