She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sandra Kay; husband, Leland Wise Sr.; brothers, Ray Lancia and Romeo Lancia; and sister, Edith Seymour.

Julia was born on Jan. 10, 1923, in Geneva, N.Y., daughter of Elvino and Mary Delprovia Lancia. She was the youngest of their five children, christened Gigliola, but later she shortened her name to Julia or Julie. Julie graduated from Geneva High School and Hamilton Business College both of, Geneva, NY. On September 25, 1943 she was united in marriage to Leland Wise at St. Francis Church in Geneva, N.Y. They first met at Sampson Naval Base in Geneva where Julie worked and Leland was stationed.

The couple spent the majority of their 66 years of married life in the Cedar Rapids area. Julie worked outside the home for several area businesses, but primarily she was a home maker, raising their children. The family has many happy memories of birthday and holiday celebrations at the Wise family home.

Julie always had an artistic view and interest, and she and Leland were often actively creating for a local craft show. She enjoyed reading biographies, sewing, quilting and years of bowling in several leagues. Above all, Julie loved being with her family and she will be deeply missed.

Special thank you to the nursing staff at Meadow View Memory Care and the hospice staff with the St. Croix branch in Cedar Rapids, as well as the excellent care over the years from Dr. Casey Boyles.
