Joyce E. Dudley

Joyce E. Dudley, 87, of New Philadelphia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 15, 2022 at Park Village Health Care and Assisted Living Center in Dover.

Born January 6, 1935 in Akron, she was the daughter of the late James L. and F. Delphia (Parker) Doyle.

At Liberty, Indiana on October 6, 1952, Joyce married the love of her life, Jerry L. Dudley and together they enjoyed many milestones, but most importantly, they raised their five children together and she was always there for them, no matter what. Jerry and Joyce loved to travel and camp. Many memories were made while they traveled throughout the country on their Honda Goldwing and were fortunate to visit every state in the United States, except Alaska and Hawaii. Joyce and Jerry celebrated 54 years of marriage before his passing in 2007.
A lady of faith, Joyce was a longtime active member of Jerusalem Church in New Philadelphia and leader of the church prayer chain. Joyce retired from General Electric in Newcomerstown where she worked for over 20 years.
Joyce is survived by her children Judy (Todd) Swinehart of North Canton, Joy (Tim) Mullins of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, Jeannie (Chris) Wilson of Santee, South Carolina, Jamie Dudley of Los Angeles, California, and Jerry (Jessica) Dudley II of New Philadelphia, Ohio; her grandchildren, Amanda, Tyler (Danielle) and Diana Swinehart, Ashley (Key) Collins, Tasha (Bradley) Cleary, Alexis (Alec) Kroll, Chelsea Chanel (Dom) Dudley, Marissa and Jerry L. “Trey” Dudley, III; her step-grandchildren, Lucille and Logan Charles; her loving sisters-in-law, Jean Beaber and Dorothy Doyle, 5 great-grandchildren and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her 6th.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Joyce was also preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Friends are invited to call Friday from 9:30 -11 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia where Pastor Tom Hendershot will lead a funeral service beginning at 11AM. Burial will follow in the Jerusalem Church Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
