Joseph L Murphy

Joseph L. Murphy, M.D., age 86, passed away on May 26, 2022. Joe was born in Chicago on August 25, 1935. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marilyn; his parents, Joseph and Mary Murphy; and sisters Mary Ruth, Grace Vivian, and Dolores. Survived by his sister Claudette. Cherished father of Jennifer, Mary, Joseph, Veronica, Timothy, Denise, and Kevin. Devoted grandfather of Marya, Isabel, Elise, Ryan, Julianne, Derek, Jason, Daniel and Luca.

Joe graduated from St. Ignatius High School, then from Loyola University with a bachelor of science and the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine. He was an internist on the staff of St Joseph Hospital in Chicago for forty years. Joe was an army veteran assigned to the main base in Orlean, France.

Visitation: Tuesday, May 31, 4-8 pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero, Chicago. Funeral: Wednesday, June 1 at Queen of All Saints Basilica at 10 am followed by entombment at All Saints Mausoleum.
