Joseph James “Jim” Yaukovitz, 82, of Tipton, entered eternity on Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, while under the care of St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tipton, with visitation at the church from 10 to 11 am. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.

Jim, son of Joseph James Yaukovitz and Mary Elizabeth Tucnik Yaukovitz, was born on Jan. 3, 1940, in Tarentum, Pa. He graduated from Springdale High School in Pennsylvania and also from DeVry Technical College in Chicago. Jim worked as the quality control supervisor for Wabash Transformer in Tipton and Clarence until his retirement in 2010. Jim met and married Mary Joanna Kumlin while working at Triwec Transformer in Chicago and after a couple of moves, they ended up in Tipton. He was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tipton.

Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Yaukovitz of Tipton; sons, Joseph “Joey” and his wife, Jaci Yaukovitz of Venice, Fla., and James “Jim” of Tipton, Iowa; four grandchildren, Jacin, Jordan, Jalyn and Ryan; and his brother, Richard Yaukovitz of Venice, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
