Joseph Ellibert Woldhuis
Joseph Ellibert Woldhuis was born April 25, 1939 in The Netherlands and went to walk with the Lord on December 22, 2022. During the war he worked closely with his father to help others survive and he learned a lot of wisdom from his dad through these experiences. In 1951 his dad decided to bring his wife and 8 children to America where he rented a farm and helped run it with his dad. He married his wife, Sharon, in 1960 and was blessed with 4 children, Linda, Joe, Scott and Shelly.
Over the years he and Sharon visited the Netherlands many times to visit the numerous relatives that still lived there. There were many happy times and funny stories that would come from these trips.
During his life, Joe worked hard as a businessman but always found time to go fishing. He enjoyed many fishing trips on his boat the “Fish Hawk” during the 37 years he and Sharon lived as snowbirds in Naples, Florida.
He also loved serving his Lord in many different ways and most recently for Agape a home for boys and girls in Walworth, WI. His time and talent for woodworking will be forever cherished in these homes. He also enjoyed socializing with friends, meeting for fish dinner, Saturday morning breakfast or men’s bible study breakfast. Joe was very pleased to have worked driving across country for an expedited delivery service until he was 83, and he started working on his dad’s farm when he was 13!
Joe is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sharon Joy (nee Dykstra), children Linda Jean (Brad) Krueger, Joseph Albert Woldhuis, Scott Allen (Tanja) Woldhuis, and Shelly Ann (Michael) Vanderburg; 3 grandchildren Monique Lynn (Joel) Guthrie, Cody John (Casey) Krueger and Travis Joseph Krueger; and 3 great grandchildren, Taylor Lynn Guthrie, Taryn Lynn Guthrie and Caleb John Krueger.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 29 at Calvary Community Church at 10:00 AM with lunch to follow.
