John B. Watson, M.D.

John B. Watson, M.D., 97 died peacefully at St. Joseph Hospital on May 5, 2022, of natural causes. He was born and lived in Chicago and had attended St. Michael Elementary and High School. After graduation he entered the U.S. Navy serving as a Hospital Corpsman in the South Pacific Theatre during World War II. Upon being discharged from the Navy he completed his pre-medical education at Loyola University College of Arts and Science obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then entered Stritch School of Medicine of Loyola University graduating in 1952. His Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine followed at Cook County Hospital. Dr. Watson practiced on the north side of Chicago and was on the staff of several hospitals. He was preceded in death by his parents John B. Sr., and Anne M. Watson, his twin brother Nathan, and his beloved wife, Rita Sullivan Watson. John’s principal interests were reading and classical music. He is survived by numerous nephews and nieces and a brother and sister-in-law. Visitation Monday, May 9th from 4-8pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. Prayers 9:30am Tuesday, May 10th from the funeral home to Queen of All Saints Basilica, 6280 N. Sauganash, Chicago, for Mass at 10:00am. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
