JoAnn Unkrich, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at Mercy Hallmar. Memorial Service: noon Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, with visitation beginning one hour prior to service, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2900 42nd St. NE. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids, is caring for the family.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Glen; children, Luann Richmond, Jody (Stu) Hohm, and David (Nicole) Unkrich; grandchildren, Sarah, Ian, Skyler (Tony), Meritt (Amy), Aly (Nick), Stuart, Spencer, Bryson, Kellen, and Natalie; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Mel (Linda), Jan, Marilyn, and Muriel.

JoAnn Arlys was born July 25, 1936, in Spring Grove, Minn., the daughter of Henry and Alvina (Lien) Tollefsrud. She graduated from Spring Grove High School. JoAnn married her love, Glen Unkrich, in 1970. She started her 28-year career at Hy-Vee as a cashier before moving into a bookkeeping position.

She enjoyed ballroom dancing, aerobics, bicycling, golf and going for walks. JoAnn volunteered at several hospitals, sewing silk pillow cases for cancer patients and more. She took pride in her 100-percent Norwegian heritage. Most of all, JoAnn loved her time with her family.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dan Molitor; and siblings, Roger, Harris, Odell, and Glenda Tollefsrud.
