Joan W. Ciotti
Joan W. Ciotti, 91, of Springfield, formerly of Illiopolis, died on Friday, December 9, 2022 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. She was born on July 18, 1931 in St. Louis, MO to John R. and Rose (Oschner) Ward. She married John P. Ciotti on June 13, 1954 and he preceded her in death on August 31, 2020.
She is survived by one daughter, Jan (Arch) Hankins of Chatham; one son, Jim Ciotti of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Carol Ciotti of Cookeville, TN; two grandchildren; Jonathan P. and Carolyn N. Ciotti, both of Cookeville, TN; special friends, Craig Law and Arlene Grubb; several nieces and nephews and two canine companions, Buckley and Dusty.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Jon P. Ciotti.
Joan retired as an educator from Decatur and Illiopolis Schools after many years. She was also a member of St. Aloysius Church.
Visitation: 9 – 11 am, Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11 am, Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Reverend Christopher House officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Casual attire is requested.
