James E. Leibolt

James E. Leibolt, 71, of Perrysville, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at his residence. Born December 24, 1949 in Ashland, Ohio. He was the son of William Leibolt and Martha Jane Beck (Spears).

James was employed with the Ashland County Sheriff’s Department for 28 years, the Ashland County Municipal Court for 13 years and as a security officer for University Hospital Samaritan Regional Medical Center for 2 years. He was recently baptized in a private ceremony by Senior Assistant Pastor Josh from Calvary Baptist Church.

James enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycle riding. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, a member of the Mansfield Wart Hogs, the Loudonville Masonic Lodge for over 30 years and the Olentangy Beagle Club for 10 years. James’ greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Dianne Petty Leibolt; two sons and daughters-in-law, Vince and Rhonda Leibolt of Ashland and Bryan and Ashleigh Leibolt of Medina; grandchildren and their spouses, Rachael and Justin Sumner of Florida, Melanie Leibolt of Texas, Jennifer Leibolt of Florida, James Leibolt Jr., Chloe Grimm, Liam Cunningham and Alex Cunningham all of Medina, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half sister, Bernice Cole.
