Jamal is survived by his mother Celestine Claxton; children Rayauna Brim, Jamal Claxton, Tekera Sams, Shavontae May; siblings Shante, Shamara, Joshalynn Claxton and Andre Wagner.

He was preceded in death by his brother Julius Claxton.
