Jacqueline L. Tilton
Jacqueline “Jackie” Tilton, age 87, of Yorkville, IL was welcomed by her Heavenly Father on Monday, April 11, 2022 after a long and courageous fight with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born on September 19, 1934 in Madison, NE the daughter of Clayton and Lore (Maurer) Parker.
Jackie was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” Tilton on August 22, 1954 in Compton, CA and they spent the next 65 happy years together. Ted and Jackie made the journey from California to Yorkville, IL in 1967, where they raised their six children. Immediately, Jackie became involved with the Yorkville United Methodist Church where she enjoyed serving as the Adult and Children’s Choir Director for many years. In addition to the Methodist Church, she served as Choir Director at Yorkville Congregational Church. Jackie’s community was a big part of her life through volunteering at the Food Pantry and other organizations in Yorkville and Morrison, IL where she and Ted lovingly restored an old grist mill. She was also an active member of the Morrison Historical Society in Morrison, IL. Her life was always centered around her faith, family and friends. She will be remembered for her smiles, laughs, hospitality and HUGS! Jackie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Jackie is survived by her children, Celeste (Tim) Dalton of Batavia, IL, Alisa (Glenn) Fenstermacher of Tuscon, AZ, Matthew (Shellane) Tilton of Wheaton, IL, Melanie (Bill) Williams of Beaufort, SC, Annette (Tim) Carlson of Cave Creek, AZ, and Heather (Joe) Miragliotta of Yorkville, IL; her grandchildren, Bradley and Adam Dalton, Brooke, Matthew and Benjamin Carlson, Melanie Tilton, and Aidain Miragliotta; her nine great-grandchildren; and her sisters Patsy and Nancy.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ted, in 2019; her parents, Clayton and Lore Parker; and her sister, Susie Burke.
A Celebration of Jackie’s life will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Yorkville Congregational Church, 409 Center Parkway, Yorkville, IL, with a graveside service following in Elmwood Cemetery in Yorkville, IL.
