Heather JoLee Shook (Packingham), 50, of Brooksville, FL, formerly of Stanwood, died Sunday, July 14, 2024.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Heather in the near future. Heather had decided to donate her organs to science.

Heather was born in Cedar Rapids, Sept 16, 1973. She had learned at young age that to get what she wants, she had to work for it. She did some babysitting which in turn she has stayed friends with parents and their children. Her mom decided to move to Arizona to try it out. She met Marlando Cruz and had two wonderful children. In time she decided to move back to Iowa. She worked even since she had not only herself but also two kids. In Sept. of 1999 she met Matt Shook and they got married April 15, 2000. She got to take a break from work and stayed at home to raise the kids and dogs. She volunteered on Stanwood Ambulance and became an EMT. She was so proud of that, but then illness took her away from that. Many months later she became a phlebotomist, a job she always wanted, however a few months into that illness came again. Heather was such a wonderful wife, NaNa, sister, mother and aunt. She was so strong with all the illnesses she had for so many years. She loved life, friends and especially family. Heather and Matt moved to Florida, which was something she always wanted to do.

Heather is survived by her husband, Matt; children, Sabrina Cruz and Marcus Cruz; grandson, Mason Cruz; brothers, JIm Packingham and Rob Packingham; and sister, Brenda Heims.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Packingham; mother, Donna Coleman; and stepmother, Mary Packingham.

Please send any donations to Matt Shook, 22329 Cortez Blvd. #60. Brooksville FL 34601.

Thank You to all the friends and family who got to stop by, call or text before she left. We appreciated it. Also we ask if you could take that special part of her that you loved so much and put it in your heart, then pass it on. No matter what she was positive, had a beautiful smile and loved everyone.
