Harold S. Jones Jr.

Harold Statler Jones Jr., age 88, of Aurora, IL passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at his daughters home in Hinckley. He was born on January 11, 1934 in Chicago, IL the son of Harold S. and Laura (Barth) Jones.

Mr. Jones was united in marriage on November 20, 1954 to the former Virginia Bruns and they spent the next 49 years happily together. Harold selflessly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He will forever be remembered in our hearts as Happy Harry! Harold was the owner and operated of his own painting business for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Lynn Schultz, Gary (Nancy) Jones, Joyce (James) Jablonski, and Chris (Barbara) Jones; his grandchildren, Jason (Meagan), Kevin (Kellie), Amy (Scott), Ashley (Michael), Eric (Erika), Michael, Richard, Elyse and Evan. He is lovingly remembered by many great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Carol Jones; his daughter, Kimberly Marie Jones; his granddaughter, Melissa Lynn Doyle; his parents; and his siblings.

A Military Service and burial will take place at 9:30 AM on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 27034 S. Diagonal Rd., Elwood, IL.
