Gertrude S. (Radzinski) Trinker passed away peacefully at the age of 105 on August 26, 2022 in Granbury, Texas.

 

Visitation will be held at the Martin’s Funeral Home, 100 Morgan Street, in Granbury from 1 until 2 on Thursday, September 1, 2022.  Funeral services will follow at 2 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Holly Hills Cemetery.

 

Gertrude was born March 17, 1917 to Walter and Euphemia (Wisniewska) Zawacki in Salem, MA and was the youngest of 5 children. Gertrude and her first husband, John Radzinski, had two children, Alexandra and Thomas.

 

Gertrude retired from GTE/Sylvania Electronics. She was a talented artist, from painting to cake decorating. Among her many activities, Gertrude enjoyed playing bingo, dancing, golfing, traveling, cooking and she cherished her time spent with family and friends. She could light up the room with her pretty blue eyes and beautiful smile.

 

In 1996, Gertrude married the love of her life, Joseph Trinker of Granbury. They met at the Hood County Senior Center when they were matched up as dance partners. Prior to his death in 2009, Gertrude and Joe had enjoyed 13 wonderful years of marriage. They were active members of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Hood County Senior Center, the VFW Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary.

 

Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Trinker; her son, Thomas Radzinski; and her grandson, Mark Keays.

 

Gertrude is survived by her daughter, Alexandra (Wayne) Keays;  grandchildren—Linda (Paul) Lyden, Brian (Kim) Keays, Eric Keays, Philip (Nicole) Radzinski, and John (Sue) Radzinski; granddaughters-in-law – Kathleen Keays Oliver and Joanie Keays; great-grandchildren—Eric (Kattie) Thompson,  Halie (Alexander) Ramsey, Kelly (Chris) Wilbar, Brett Keays, Riley Keays, Andrew Keays, Cory Lyden, Jake Keays, Luke Keays, and Sofie Radzinski; great-great grandchildren—Channing, Liliana, Finley, Dax, and Talan; and many nieces, nephews and long-time friends.

Gertrude’s family would like to give a special thanks to all who have helped and supported Gertrude over the years, most especially the wonderful staff and nurses at Harbor Lakes Nursing Home, her caring hospice team, Dr. Barnes, and her many dear friends.
