Gerda Johanna Koehl Harrington

Gerda Johanna Koehl Harrington, 90, of Hendersonville, peacefully passed away April 6^th, 2022, with her daughter by her side. Born in Aachen, Germany, to the late Herman H. Koehl and Maria Altdorf Koehl; she is reunited with her beloved husband Richard Harrington and their son Richard Harrington, Jr.

Gerda arrived in the United States at the age of fourteen. She was a graduate of Annhurst College of Pomfret. Gerda resided in Connecticut until 1998 when she and Richard then moved to Brevard, NC.  In 2008, she and Richard moved to Hendersonville, where it became their forever home.

She was a gifted artist and absolutely loved to travel. Gerda was known as an avid bridge player.

Left to cherish Greda’s memory are her daughter Pat Graham and husband Earl from Hoschton, GA; son Kevin Harrington and wife Lucy from Hampton, CT; brother Hans Koehl and wife Christina of Brooklyn, CT; and sister Emmy Digregorio and husband Joe of Pittsburgh, PA. Gerda also leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
