George Franklin Miner, Jr.

George Franklin Miner, Jr., 91, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away November 15th, 2021, at his home.

George was predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife of almost fifty years, Florence; and two sisters, Mary Amaral and Martha Chapman.

George was a high school graduate; he had also lived in North Stonington, CT. He was a retired dairy and maple syrup farmer from Maple Dawn Farm. After moving to Hendersonville, George became a member of Edneyville United Methodist Church.

In his free time, George was an avid woodworker and gardener. He also enjoyed restoring, collecting, and pulling tractors. His interests included Grange and Southern Lights Square Dancers. George was a lifetime member of the North Stonington Volunteer Fire Department. He will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jane Artman (Joseph) of Waynesboro, PA; and Karen Wood (James) of McHenry, MD; son, Arthur Miner (Mara) of North Stonington, CT; grandchildren, Garrett and Faith Miner, and Kaitlyn and Jillian Wood. George also leaves behind a sister, Grace Miner of Florence, SC; and a brother, Jesse Miner (Doris Ann) of Schoharie, NY; as well many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm, Friday, November 19, 2021, at Edneyville United Methodist Church at 799 Bearwallow Road, Hendersonville.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George’s memory to Edneyville United Methodist Church, PO Box 87, Edneyville, NC 28727 or Four Seasons Hospice, 571 South Allen Rd, Flat Rock, NC 28731.

A memorial service will be held in CT at a future date to be determined.
