Frederick H. Borgardt

Frederick H. Borgardt was born on February 1, 1934 in Northfield Township, Illinois to the late Henry and Emma (nee Hilgenberg) Borgardt, brother to Betty (late Bill) Camp and Margaret (late George) Loving. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia and daughter Deborah Durnwald. Father of David (Kathy) Borgardt and Michael Borgardt; father-in-law to Michael Durnwald Sr. and Jean Borgardt; grandfather of Mary Durnwald, Michael Durnwald Jr., David (Laura) Borgardt Jr., Bryan (Devon) Borgardt, Sara (Daniel) White and Julianne (Elliot) Borgardt; great-grandfather of Alexandra Borgardt and Audrey Borgardt; beloved uncle of Debbie (George) Yoder, the late Grace Loving and the late Forrest Camp Jr.

 

Fred served as a member of the US Army from 1956-1958 and US Army Reserves from 1958-1962. He started his career as a shoe salesman for Sears but quickly learned he had a way with the trades. Fred spent much of his life as a skilled contractor and owned several small businesses including Borgardt Construction and Creative Surfaces Plus. During his retirement, Fred enjoyed gardening, ice cream and spending time with family. Fred entered eternal rest on June 23, 2022.

 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9 at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL 60067, with a visitation from 1:00-3:00pm and service at 3:00pm. A zoom link will be provided. More info 847-359-8020.
