Francis (Smitty) Smith from Walker, IA passed away on August 12, 2025. Smitty was born on December 7, 1930 in Whittemore, IA. He is survived by his wife Betty, three daughters, Carol, Nancy & Cathy, one son Ricky, one sister Judy, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

Smitty enjoyed fishing, camping, sprint car races and Hawkeye football and girl’s basketball. He also enjoyed a cold beer after mowing. He married Betty on December 20, 1975. Smitty also served in the Air Force in the Korean War.

He is preceded in death by his mother Helen and father Frank, his brothers Lloyd, Jerry, and Jim, two half brothers Bob and Bill, and four sisters Fern, Margaret, Caroline, and Beverly.
