Forrest Everett Chesmore, 83, of Vinton, Iowa, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton. Funeral service:

2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, Center Point.

Forrest was born Oct. 16, 1939, in Center Point, the son of Golden and Doralee (Thomas) Chesmore. He was united in marriage to Charlotte Dedrick on June 11, 1960. Forrest was a dedicated truck driver of 55 years, starting in 1962. Forrest worked for Gray Transportation and Elliott Bros. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Charlotte Chesmore; children, Linda Duffer (Rob Nemec) and Jarvis Chesmore; grandchildren, Elizabeth Hughes (Bob Coonradt), Joseph Duffer, Michael Duffer (Cheryl Payne), Ben Lively and Christina (Ivan) Nicolas; three nephews; three nieces; and many great-grandchildren.

Forrest was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
