Evelyn Mae Driscoll, 98, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.
. on August 31, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, in Fairfax, Iowa.

February 27, 1926, in
Cedar
Rapids, to Milo and
Blanche
(Hollan) Poula.
On September 13, 1944, she
married Robert “Bob” J.
Driscoll at St. Patrick’s
Church in Cedar Rapids.
Evelyn had a varied career,
working at Collins Radio
and later as an officer for
B&L Investments. However,
her most cherished role was
as a stay-at-home mother
to her
four daughters.
She also
dedicated her time as a Campfire Leader and was an active member of the Women’s Police Auxiliary. In her free time, Evelyn enjoyed bowling and sewing. In her younger years, she was part of a dance troupe. Above all else, Evelyn was a devoted mother and a supportive wife.
Survivors include her daughters, Lynn (Steven) Ashlock, Cynthia (Richard) Garifi, Janette Driscoll, and Theresa (Fleet) Driscoll Smith; 12 grandchildren, Dami Ann (Kevin) Hughes, Jeramy (Shelina) Ashlock, Erin (Colin) Stewart, Robert (Amy) Garifi, Jennifer Garifi, Holly (Jason) Sanders, Karen (Eppie) Martinez, Brian (Andrea) Hixson, Kelly (Josh) Kintzel, Elizabeth (Brandon) Kobel-Smith, Fleet (Natalie) Smith IV, and Jeremy (Kristy) Smith; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Blanche Poula, husband, Robert J. Driscoll; granddaughter, Renee; and siblings, Mary Hagenbuck, Milo Poula, and Dorothy Madison.
We are profoundly grateful for the dedicated and attentive staff at Cottage Grove Assisted Living. They will remain in our hearts forever.
