Elmer F. Jandik, 88, of Cedar Rapids, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at his home. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a Celebration of Life following at 11a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Radiant Church, 3233 Blairs Ferry Road (use door 1). Private family inurnment will be held in Czech National Cemetery. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is caring for Elmer and his family.

Elmer was born March 28, 1936, in Des Moines, the son of Frank and Bessie (Cuhel) Jandik. He graduated from Walford High School, class of 1954, as valedictorian. He married Janice Lee Bayne on February 13, 1958, at The Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua. She passed away on October 11, 2019. Over the course of his career, he farmed, worked at FMC Linkbelt, retired as a custodian for the Cedar Rapids School System. Elmer was united in marriage to Veronica Fugate on July 10, 2021. Elmer enjoyed gardening, going to tractor pulls, camping, cooking and most of all spending time with his family. He was also a devoted long- time member of First Assembly of God (now Radiant Church).

Elmer is survived by his children Garold “Red” (Becky) Jandik and Brenda (Bill) Potter; five grandchildren, Travis (Naomi) Thompson, Shannon (Michael) McManus, Scott (Amanda) Jandik, Alissa Nicholls, and Tim (Sarah) Potter; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; step-children Tracy Mosley, Ted (Tammy) Beliel, Triny Peek, Tonia Beliel and their families; sister-in-law Sandy Bayne; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Janice and Veronica, sister Dorothy (Roe) Kirkpatrick, brother Robert (Frances) Jandik, sisters-in-law Pat Hinz and Judy Wood, brothers-in-law Joe Bayne and Dennis Bayne, great-granddaughter Ellianna Jandik, and stepson Todd.

Elmer’s presence in our lives will be greatly missed.
