Earl Lawrence Burton

Earl Lawrence “Larry” Burton , age 84 of Yorkville, formerly of Villa Park, passed away peacefully at the Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, IL on September 17, 2022. He was born on February 8, 1938 in Chicago, IL the son of Earl Russell Burton and Evalyn Emma (Drachenberg) Leninger.

Larry was united in marriage on January 30, 1960 to Juanita Elaine Martin, after meeting on a blind date and marrying 3 months later.   They spent the next 61 happy years together until her passing on November 15, 2021.  Mr. Burton attended the First Lutheran Church of Plano, IL.  He enjoyed rehabbing the many homes they lived in and was known for his excellent handyman skills.  He could fix, build or repair anything.  He also had a special love of traveling and any outdoor activities. Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Larry is survived by his children, Dawn (David) Parison and Wayne (Cindy) Burton; his grandchildren, Elayne, John, Kendra, Dana, Dallas, Cody, Jacob, Anthony and Cameron; his great-grandchildren, Shayna, Evalyna, Heaven, Dominic, Mykayla, Aaleyah, Johnny, Jackson, Madison, Phoenix and Jameson; his sisters, Susan (Bill) Koch of CA and Beverly Rogers of AZ; also, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Burton and Evalyn Leninger and his wife, Juanita Burton.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit 1:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
