Earl J. “Jim” Lorenzen Jr., 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022.

Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. No services are planned at this time.

Survivors include his daughters, Katrina (Scott) VanMeter of Cedar Rapids and Beth Lorenzen of LeClaire, Iowa; also surviving are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Earl James Lorenzen Jr. was born April 11, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Earl Sr. and Theoda (Young) Lorenzen. He served an enlistment in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing, daily walks, and talking with people.
