Donald C. Gallagher died on August 11, 2025 at the age of 98. Per his wishes his body has been deeded to the Kansas City University Department of Anatomy. There will be a private family celebration of Don’s life.
Donald was born on September 2, 1926, in Lincoln Nebraska. He served in the Navy during World War II. He graduated from The University of Nebraska with a degree in Electrical Engineering and then a Masters from Yale University.
He married Mary Lou Van Burg on June 14, 1947, and they settled in the Cedar Rapids area in 1952. He was employed at Collins Radio Company for 32 years and after retiring, had his own engineering recruiting business for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife and son, Don. He is survived by daughters, Leslie and Lynn; grandchildren, Jeremy, Nick, Kristi, Katie, Ryan, Daniel, and Patrick; and great-grandchildren, Ainsley, Porter, Cole, Henry, Hudson, Beckett, and Colton.
