Cora  Ashley

Cora Ashley of Ashland, Ohio passed away at her home on Thursday, April 22, 2021 after fighting cancer for three and a half years. She was born in southern Ohio on September 19th to the late William and Florence (Kaylor) Fryman.

Cora loved the Lord and her family. She was affiliated with the Ontario Free Methodist Church and Ashland Grace Church. She was a member of Christian Women’s Club and the Samaritan Gray Lady Club.

Cora is survived by her children, Pamela Hazen and D. Scott Ashley; grandchildren, Brandon, Andrew, Chad, Derek, Amanda, Ross and Katherine; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Addyson, Aria, Roman, Juliette and Fiona; brother, William M. Fryman Jr.; sister, M. Carolyn Method; and very special caring and loving cousin, Vicki Howman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Ashley; two infant daughters; and one infant great-granddaughter.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice of North Central Ohio for the great care given to Cora.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Ave., Ashland. Additional visiting hours will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jared Smeltzer officiating. She will be laid to rest in Ashland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
