Coleen Scheel, 73, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully at her home on November 8, 2025 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Coleen is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Scheel; her brother Steve (Julie) Calvert; her children, Amanda (Jeremy) Gates and Jason (Sarah) Miller; her stepchildren, Brandon Scheel and Angie (Kevin) Sarazin, and her cherished grandchildren, Trinity, Kylie, and Gabby Gates; Greyson and Tristan Miller; Olivia and Audrey Scheel; and Makenzey Sarazin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Evan and Virginia Calvert, and her daughter, Angela Miller.

Coleen spent many years working in the medical field, where her compassion and care touched countless lives. She was a very loving person, always putting others before herself and finding joy in helping those around her.

Coleen had a gentle spirit and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. She loved tending to her plants, visiting the Hiawatha Farmers Market, caring for stray animals, and finding peace in nature. Her kindness, warmth, and nurturing heart will be remembered by all who knew her.

The family will be having a private graveside service at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
