Charles M. Weepie, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday Jan. 6, 2023, at Keystone Cedars. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, with a rosary service beginning at 4 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church by the Rev. Douglas Loecke. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Charlie was born Jan. 15, 1932, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Charles Sr. and Agnes (Iekel) Weepie. He graduated from Loras and received further education at the University of Iowa. He married Faustine Rueter on Sept. 6, 1958, in Cedar Rapids. Charlie was employed at Link-Belt and FMC Corporation, Clark Equipment Company and Highway Equipment Company. He was a faithful member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and regular volunteer at Mercy Hospital.

Survivors include his children, Jean (Bob) Beer, Margaret Weepie, Michael Weepie, all of Cedar Rapids, and Brian (Angela) Weepie of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Reid) DeSotel, Megan Beer, Jason (Sarah) Beer, Ella Weepie and Alyssa Weepie; two great-grandchildren, Adelyn and Hudson DeSotel. Also surviving are his nieces, Susan Tharp and Rose Beaves.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Faustine; his parents; and sisters, Sr. Rose Marie Weepie and Rita Kenny.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory may be sent to Camp Courageous or St. Matthew Catholic Church.
