Charles Arthur Herrmann

Charles Arthur Herrmann, 96, passed away on March 29th 2022 in Hendersonville, North Carolina. He was born on Lake Ave in Center Moriches, New York at the home of his parents, George and Martha G Johnson Herrmann. Charles graduated from Center Moriches High School and entered the U.S. Army Air Corp and was a tail gunner, flying missions over England and France (World War II veteran). After the war he entered the University of Florida and after graduating, he went to New York City and worked for Lord and Taylor and appeared as a model in fashion ads.

After leaving New York, Charles ended up in La Jolla, California. He owned and operated a clothing store for many years called Fredrick and Charles. After retiring from the clothing store, he moved to San Diego where he worked in real estate.

Retiring after 2000, he moved to the mountains of North Carolina near Asheville. Charles enjoyed more a decade there in the mountains of Hendersonville, North Carolina. Charles’s brother George Herrmann, III predeceased him. He is survived by two nephews, George A. Herrmann and Mark P. Herrmann; and a niece, Eileen Herrmann Buckheit, all of Long Island, New York.
