Carolyn Ann Randle

Carolyn Ann Randle

Carolyn Ann Randle was born on April 10,1959 at Mt. Sanai hospital to Douglas and Gertrude Hemphill. She was the youngest of two.

As a child, Carolyn was always active and had a tremendous passion for life. She professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Second Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was baptized under the Pastorate of Rev. Charles Gant in Cleveland, Ohio. During her younger years, she served on the Junior Usher Board.

Carolyn began her education at Columbia Elementary on Cleveland’s east side and graduated from Cleveland Urban Learning Community of St. Ignatius High School. Throughout her school career she was involved in several activities and created life-long friendships along the way. Carolyn continued her education and graduated from Cuyahoga Community College.

Her beautiful spirit caught the attention of Tom (Ollie) Randle to whom she wed in April of 1975. After graduation, she began her career at the American Red Cross, where she excelled in her career for 15 years. She proudly served as an ambassador to raise over $111,000 in building Cleveland’s Joseph M. Bruening Red Cross Center. Carolyn continued her passion to help others by working in Mortgage Financing until her health declined unexpectedly.

Although Carolyn was unable to actively serve the community, she continued to mentor and mother many with her wisdom, strength, and nervy wit. She cared for and supported many with her time and generosity. Carolyn always said she was rich. And she was…she lived rich, loved rich, and enjoyed the finer things of life. She always ended a conversation with “I love you”. She will be missed immensely by family members, close friends, and acquaintances. She peacefully departed this life in the wee hours of Tuesday, January 25th at Menorah Park in Beachwood, Ohio. Carolyn leaves to cherish her legacy of love and devotion to her dear Mother, Gertrude Hemphill, Brother, Douglas Hemphill, Husband, Tom Randle, Sister In-Law, Dreannia Hemphill, Nephew, Douglas Hemphill III, Neice, Danielle Hemphill, and Great-Nephew, Emanuel Harden, several cousins, and a host of other family and friends.
