Brice Everson, 27, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Camanche, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Main Methodist Hospital, San Antonio, Texas.
Brice was caring, compassionate and determined. He made a strong impression and connection with so many people. There have been countless tributes on social media recounting his caring, determined and driven traits. The impact he had on so many is obvious, and this world is a little less bright without him.
Brice Clifford Everson was born on January 5, 1998 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Wade and Tricia (Stowers) Everson. He graduated from Camanche High School in 2016. He graduated as Valedictorian and participated in football, track and baseball but wrestling was his passion since age 4. He was a leader in the wrestling room early on for Camanche Junior Wrestling and Young Guns Wrestling Club and that carried over into high school and eventually college. He was a 2x State Placer and 1x Finalist in the IHSAA State Wrestling Tournament. He attended Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Ind., his freshman/sophomore years before Transferring back to his home state of Iowa at Loras College in Dubuque. He qualified for NCAA Nationals in 2019, ranked #4 Nationally at 133 lbs. The Duhawks placed 2nd at Nationals that year. His senior year the Dukawks snapped Wartburg’s 27-year conference championship winning streak. They went on to win the Regional Title and were ranked #1 Nationally. Brice graduated from Loras in 2020 with a major in Economics and a minor in Wealth and Financial Management. He developed a passion for MMA fighting, working out at several gyms and participating in three amateur fights.
He had a few jobs in the financial world before moving to San Antonio, where he eventually found his dream job at Frost Bank as a Wealth Financial Advisor where he excelled.
Brice got engaged to the love of his life, Megan Meese of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on November 30, 2024 and were set to be married on November 7, 2026. They rescued their first cat, Tito in 2022 and then rescued their second cat Jameson “JJ” a few months ago and Brice was the best Cat Daddy.
Brice is survived by his parents, Wade & Tricia Everson of Camanche brothers Noah (Kylie)of San Antonio, Cade and Owen of Camanche, his fiancée Megan Meese of San Antonio, Texas; maternal grandparents: Sharon and Weston Lind of Camanche; paternal grandparents: Margaret (Larry) Schaver of Camanche and Ronald (Carey) Everson of Clinton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including a special aunt: Shiela Johnson of Camanche. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, including a special great-grandma: Vivian (Ma) Stowers, and a great-aunt: Sherry Schoenig.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the River Church – Clinton. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm Saturday at the church. The family requests that you wear blue in Brice’s honor. Brice was an organ donor, so a little bit of him will live on, strong in others. There was no better way for him to leave this world than with one last gift.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family for a scholarship to be established in Brice’s name.
