Brian James Appleby

Brian James Appleby, age 58 of Hinckley, IL passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on August 2, 1962 in Chicago, IL the son of Leo and Patricia (Turney) Appleby.

Brian was united in marriage on August 30, 2003 to Debra Moore and they spent the next 17 years happily together. Mr. Appleby was employed, for many years, as a tuckpointer in the construction industry and was a member of Local #21. Brian started his own company “Steel & Stone Restoration” in April 2019. He was a loving husband, son, step-father, step-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Brian is survived by his wife, Debbie Appleby of Hinckley, IL; his parents, Leo and Patricia Appleby of Franklin Park, IL; his step-children, Shawn Decorrevont of Hinckley, IL and Angela (Michael) Brennan of Plainfield, IL; his step-grandchildren, Noah, Connor and Megan Brennan; his siblings, Peggy Adams of Enterprise, AL, Edward Appleby of Franklin Park, IL and Linda (Ed) Hendrickson of Chesapeake, VA; several nieces and nephews; also his father-in-law, Vince Moore of Clarence, IA.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Beverly Moore.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 North Maple Street, Hinckley, IL with Pastor Stevan Saunders, officiating. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit from 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 10, 2021 until the Hour of Service at the Funeral Home in Hinckley, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his family. Cards may be sent to Debra Appleby at 8753 East Sandwich Road, Hinckley, IL 60520.
