Bonnie Jo Ann Ireland, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, in Pegram, Tennessee, following a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer. She was 79 years old.

Born on June 22, 1946, Bonnie lived a life full of love and devotion to her family and to the animals she so adored. A passionate advocate for animal welfare, she dedicated her time to volunteering at the Cheatham County Animal Control. Her compassion was endless, a fact exemplified when she adopted a kitten she had been fostering, giving it a forever home.

Bonnie is survived by her loving children, Sean Ireland (Melanie Wells Ireland) and Kelley Phy (Nicky Phy), as well as her devoted sisters, Nancy Bolduc and Gayla Odhe. Her memory will be cherished by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was also a beloved aunt to two nieces, two nephews, and one great-niece.

While we mourn her passing, we celebrate the beautiful life she lived. Bonnie will be remembered for her kind spirit and unwavering love for her family and the many animals she rescued. Her memory will be a source of comfort and strength for all who knew her.

The family will be holding a private service to honor Bonnie’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bonnie’s memory to Cheatham County Animal Control at 2797 Sams Creek Road, Pegram, TN 37143.
