Billy Chism

Billy Chism passed away peacefully on January 1. 2022 at his home in Hampshire, Illinois.  He fought many health challenges over the tenure of his life and overcame them valiantly.

Billy celebrated his 88th birthday on October 17, 2021.  He retired after working 37 years at Taylor Freezer in Rockton, Illinois.  He was a Veteran who proudly served his country in the Navy on the USS Saint Paul.

The surviving members of Billy’s family are spouse, Betty of 64 years, three adult children, Vickie Abbott (husband Paul),  Tammy Chism and Scott Chism (wife Ellen).  He has four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Oda B. Chism, five brothers and five sisters.  He has two living sisters, Myrtle McReynolds  and Jackie Ukman.

A celebration of life service will be held in honor of Billy on May 21, 2022 at Christ Lutheran Church in Sharon, Wisconsin with a full Military graveside service at North Sharon Cemetery.  A meet and greet time with his family will be at the church from 11:00-11:30am with services at the church and graveside immediately following.

The family of Billy Chism would be honored to have you attend as we celebrate and memorialize his life.

Donations can be designated to Christ Lutheran Church or Marengo Rescue in honor of his life.
