We are sad to announce the passing of Beth Marie Dunkel (Ross) of Center Point, Iowa. She died at the age of 52. Beth passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones after a battle with colon cancer.
Visitation: 4 – 7 p.m. Monday, August 25, 2025, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Anchor Bible Church, Center Point. Burial: Green’s Grove Cemetery, rural Center Point.
Beth was born July 21, 1973, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of John and Joan (Hadrava) Ross. She graduated from East High School in Waterloo, Iowa. Beth attended UNI where she received her teaching degree in 1998.
She was united in marriage to Joshua Dunkel on May 29, 2004. Beth enjoyed teaching at Van Buren and Hiawatha Elementary, volunteering her time in the D-6 program, and vacation bible school at her church in Center Point. She dedicated 22 years to teaching before retiring in 2020. Beth loved spending time with friends and family, her chickens, and cats.
Survivors include her husband, Josh Dunkel; son, Dakota Dunkel; stepdaughters, Nevada Dunkel, and Montana Dunkel; mother, Joan Ross; brothers, Ed (Nancy) Ross, and Earl (Dawn) Ross; and niece, Megan Ross. She was preceded in death by her father, John Clark Ross; brother, John Ross; and nephew, Theodore Ross.
