Barbara Dibrell Brittain

Barbara Dibrell Brittain, a longstanding member of the Mills River community, went to be with the Lord on the evening of Thursday, October 28 at The Landings of Mills River. She was 80 years old.

Barbara was born in Gilmer, Texas on July 15, 1941 to the late Wendell and Doris Crawford Dibrell.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, J. Lee Brittain, Jr.  She is survived by her four children: Robin Williams and husband, Matthew of Fletcher, NC; Marc Brittain and wife, Shelley of Roseburg, OR; Marie Stinnett and husband, Tim of Hendersonville, NC; and Anna Earley and husband, James of Mills River, NC.  Barbara was a loving grandmother to her nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a sister, Dianne Holden.
In keeping with her wishes, the family has planned a private service.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks that donations be made to The StoreHouse, a local food pantry (www.storehouseonline.org) or Project Linus, a charity Barbara supported for countless years, which provides handmade security blankets to children in need. https://www.projectlinus.org
