Arkie went home to be with Jesus on October 10, 2021 surrounded by his loving wife and granddaughters.

Arkie was born on December 13, 1948 to J.W. and Gladys Owen.  He was raised in Arkansas and moved to Texas when he was married at the age of 19.

He worked for Tesmec USA building trenchers and traveling the world.  He enjoyed his job and getting to meet new customers.  He retired with Tesmec after 40 years with the company.

Arkie loved to deer hunt and fish.  Besides his family, these were his two passions.  He shared his love of these things with his son and many friends.

His greatest passion in life was his family.  He loved hosting his family and cooking them dinner on his smoker.  He loved hosting holidays and his infamous Fourth of July parties with many friends and family.

Arkie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Garleen; his son, Scotty Owen; granddaughters, Chelsey and husband Steven Pinksa; Lacey Reich; and Mallory and husband Ty Oakes; grandson, Tucker Owen.  He has 5 great granddaughters, Savanna, Taytum and Rowan Pinksa; Charlotte and Daisy Oakes; two sisters, Mary Bunch and Sherry Patterson.  He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Roy Lee and Walter Owen.

A celebration of life will take place in December.
