Anne “Mrs. Anne” Taylor Mullinax

 

 

Anne Rebecca Taylor Mullinax passed away peaceably at home on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in Hendersonville, North Carolina after a period of declining health.  Anne was born in Hendersonville and was the daughter of the late Dennis and Lillian Taylor.  Also, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Taylor, of Hendersonville, North Carolina.

 

Anne was married to Dr. James L. “Preacher Buddy” Mullinax.  Their life ministries included pastoring Baptist churches in North Carolina as well as churches in South Carolina and Virginia.

 

Anne graduated from Hendersonville High School.  She was an active pianist in Balfour Mill Village’s Methodist Church and at the Balfour School.  She then became the prime musician in her husband’s pastorates.  Her sweet and gentle spirit was so special to everyone who knew her, especially to the church people.

 

Anne is survived by her husband, Preacher Buddy, of seventy-four years; her children, Rev. Jerry Mullinax (Norma) of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Karen Corn (Gerry) of Easley, South Carolina, Miriam Kelly (Gerry) of Aiken, South Carolina, and Susan Moody (David) of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and two sons already in Heaven, Michael Mullinax, and Donnie Mullinax.  She is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren:  Jason Mullinax, Jessica Mullinax, Christy Luther, Nickie Toney, Misty Claxton, Matthew Mullinax, Becky Blevins, Sarah Barton, Kayla Clanton, Kenny Moody, Zack Moody, Chad Ashe, Johnathan Ashe, and Amanda Brown. She is also survived with many great-grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be at West Hendersonville Baptist Church, 730 Willow Road, Hendersonville, North Carolina on Saturday, February 5th, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.  The celebration of life service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Revs. Phillip Luther, Jason Mullinax, and Jerry Mullinax officiating.
